Audio recording is both art and a bit of science, but mostly it's just a "feeling" thing. There's nothing like the sound of a big, fat kick drum pinning down the bottom of a groove, and a snare to match. On the other hand, there's the singer/songwriter who's accompaniment is rooted around an acoustic guitar or two, with the voice cleanly on top. There's massive variety in a
studio, and you have to be able and ready to transition technically and emotionally to whatever the flavor of the day is. As an engineer, I'm all in, but I have to do without running the clock out - in consideration of budgets. There's few limits on what we can achieve sonically, from start to finish.
While we encourage artists be as prepared as possible before coming into the studio environment to save time and money, some with bigger budgets choose to rehearse and arrange right here for the efficiency. Let us know ahead of time if you'll be arranging tracks here, as the same operating hours and hourly rate still apply.
