About
Dream River. I chose that name because it appropriately describes the heart, soul, and mind of those both blessed and cursed with the need to express themselves through song, including myself. That's how we operate. I was born doing this, it wasn't a choice. I started when the only instrument I had was a voice, and I used it whenever I was out of earshot of my family - I started before I had any clue about it, or even knew what it was. I learned by ear, I learned out of shear will, and the feeling that if I could just impress my family with how good I could become they would think better of it, of me. That doesn't work.
I lived in my dream world. So did every other kid I knew who was trying to do the same thing. It's strange because as a kid with that single focus, you wonder how anybody else can live without the visions you carried around. An aspiring musician lives and breathes with the sound of music playing in their head - you have the stage and the stars in your eyes and one day all these fools will wish they were a little kinder to you!
It's a little funnier now than it was back then. The child who has aspirations of becoming what their heart beckons for them to be is seen as odd, even weird to some, but the child who wants to become a rock star is just trouble waiting to happen. I kept going. Like most "responsible" people I always maintained a full-time job, I tried not to be an embarrassment to my family, and I lived two lives and found a way to make them both work - eventually. What I didn't know, was that this entity that lives inside the artist, never, never, goes away. It can go dormant, it can hide away while you act like a responsible, respectable citizen, but one day, it's gonna return for a curtain call, and you'll realize that the dream didn't die, it was waiting for that moment in time.
It's like a river. Rivers can dry up for a time, but they return when it's time, and they keep things moving, they keep life flowing. We are that river. An endless rolling river that carries us through the years full of hope and the anticipation that comes with the territory. I wouldn't have had it any other way, especially now when I can share my abilities, experiences, and knowledge with those who are caught in that river and carry on looking for the light.
I've been here forever. I don't know it all and I don't pretend to, but I know music, I know the possibilities, I know the odds, and I know how to make you shine despite the negativity that permeates our world. You're never too young or too old to paint your picture, write your story or sing your song, and I believe I can capture that sound efficiently and effectively, and if you're open to it, provide a little inspiration and direction toward your intended goal.
If you're ready to get into a studio or just need information for an intended project, don't hesitate to give us a call and schedule a sit-down so we can help you get things rolling as soon as possible. Live your dream.
